ArenaPlus Backs Growing Pickleball Scene Through KaTribu Pickleball Challenge
ArenaPlus continues to expand its support for Filipino sports, this time partnering with Daily Tribune for the inaugural ArenaPlus-KaTribu Pickleball Challenge set for June 12 at The Dink Lab Elite in Kawit, Cavite.
Scheduled on Philippine Independence Day, the tournament aims to bring together pickleball players from various backgrounds, from recreational enthusiasts and amateur competitors to public figures and members of the growing local pickleball community.
The event is expected to feature 140 teams composed of 280 participants competing across multiple divisions as one of the sport’s largest gatherings in the country.
The partnership was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by ArenaPlus representative Jasper Vicencio and Daily Tribune Sports Editor Julius Manicad.
For ArenaPlus, the collaboration reflects its continued effort to support emerging sports alongside its existing involvement in basketball, volleyball, and other athletic competitions.
“At ArenaPlus, supporting basketball and volleyball is only scratching the surface of what we can achieve. There are many more athletes out there who deserve the spotlight. We’re currently expanding our reach to golf, among others, and now we’re here with pickleball,” said Vicencio.
“We’ve seen how Filipinos excel worldwide in various sports, and we believe that supporting pickleball is a way for us to show that there is so much untapped potential for Filipino sports outside of what we usually tune into.”
Daily Tribune will provide coverage and live-streaming support throughout the event, helping bring greater visibility to one of the country’s fastest-growing sports.
While ArenaPlus and Daily Tribune have previously worked together through advertising initiatives, the KaTribu Pickleball Challenge marks a deeper collaboration focused on growing the sport and creating opportunities for athletes and enthusiasts to showcase their skills.
“We value the trust ArenaPlus has placed in us. The support highlights a mission to uplift all Filipino athletes, including those playing in an emerging sport like pickleball,” said Manicad.
“We hope that this collaboration marks the beginning of a long-term relationship between the top sportsbook and one of the country’s most dynamic news organizations.”
A cash prize pool awaits the top finishers, with champions set to receive P15,000, runners-up earning P10,000, and second runners-up taking home P5,000.
As pickleball continues to gain momentum across the Philippines, initiatives like the ArenaPlus-KaTribu Pickleball Challenge provide another platform for the sport’s growing community to compete, connect, and continue its development.
