Filipino golf star Miguel Tabuena added another accolade to his impressive 2025 campaign after being recognized during the Manila Bulletin Newsmaker of the Year Awards held on February 2 in Manila.
The award honored individuals, organizations, and initiatives that made a significant impact over the past year, with Tabuena earning recognition following one of the most successful stretches of his professional career.
Unable to attend the ceremony, Tabuena was represented by his father, Luigi Tabuena, who accepted the honor on his behalf.
The recognition comes on the heels of Tabuena’s victory at the International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus, one of the biggest achievements of his career and a milestone moment for Philippine golf.
His success throughout 2025 helped reinforce his standing as one of the country’s top golfers and one of the leading Filipino athletes competing on the international stage.
ArenaPlus, one of the sponsors of the awards ceremony and a longtime supporter of Tabuena, co-presented the Newsmaker of the Year recognition during the event.
The Manila Bulletin Newsmaker of the Year Awards formed part of the publication’s 126th anniversary celebration, recognizing individuals and organizations that made significant contributions and headlines throughout the year.
