ArenaPlus Receives PSA Special Award for Support of Philippine Sports

ArenaPlus was recognized by the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) during the PSA Awards Night held at the Diamond Hotel in Manila, receiving a Special Award for its continued support of Philippine sports.

The recognition highlighted ArenaPlus’ contributions to sports development through its support of athletes, professional leagues, sporting events, and grassroots initiatives across the country.

A longtime partner of the annual gathering, ArenaPlus also served as a co-presenter of this year’s PSA Awards Night, marking its third consecutive year supporting the event.

In its citation, the PSA recognized ArenaPlus for its commitment to advancing Philippine sports through meaningful and sustainable initiatives that create lasting impact for athletes and the broader sporting community.

PSA President Francis Ochoa emphasized the importance of partnerships that help shine a spotlight on Filipino athletes and their achievements.

“Without a doubt, it is one of the biggest things we have been really thankful for, the support of ArenaPlus. I think it is not just the support for the PSA, it is the support for what we do for the athletes,” Ochoa said.

“Every time ArenaPlus comes in and supports us, we get a chance to put these athletes in the limelight they deserve. It is huge for us to slow down the news cycle and give the athletes the chance to shine and give them their night, which we don’t get a lot.”

This year’s PSA Awards Night also honored some of the country’s top sporting figures, including Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo and tennis standout Alex Eala, who shared the Athlete of the Year distinction.

Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio received the Executive of the Year Award, while veteran basketball coach Yeng Guiao was recognized with the President’s Award.

For Ochoa, support from organizations such as ArenaPlus plays an important role in helping the PSA continue its mission of recognizing and celebrating excellence in Philippine sports.

“We are really thankful for the continued support of ArenaPlus,” Ochoa said.
